Our cozy cabin

For sailboat owners in Canada, winter is the time for repairs and upgrades. Our season on the Great Lakes is short, so no one wants to waste spring, summer and fall days doing chores on the boat! Over the past two winters we've done some renovating on Jacoba Burg including a new galley (kitchen), refurbishing the head (bathroom) and, my favourite, adding a gas fireplace!

The fireplace/heater is a fantastic addition and makes those early spring and late fall days so much cozier on the boat. Thanks to our new gas range, anyone passing by in the morning will catch a whiff of fresh bread baking!

We're excited to show off the boat's new appointments to guests this coming season. We've got fingers and toes crossed that we will be lifting-in sometime late April. We will have to wait to see what the public health guidelines are for chartering this season but remain hopeful that we will all stay safe and get back to some kind of normal by summer.
